Lawyers Club Monthly Luncheon at the Bristol
12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. "Should I Stay or Should I Go? Issues Facing Women Weighing Whether to Stay in Practice and Balance, or Temporarily Leave the Practice of Law" Luncheon speakers are Holly Fujie, former State Bar President, and Amy Berenson Mallow, Managing Director of the West Coast office of Shannon & Manch, LLP. Optional breakout sessions will follow the luncheon presentation, consisting of separate panels of local San Diego attorneys to address issues relating to balancing professional and personal lives, and leaving and reentering the profession. Attorneys Teresa Beck, Elizabeth French, Katie Pothier and Administrative Law Judge Vallera Johnson will offer insight into their experiences with balancing family and professional responsibilities, while attorneys Allison Borkenheim, Celia Szczuka and Lei Udell will provide their stories and lessons learned from leaving and returning to the practice of law. Doors open 11:45 a.m. Bristol Hotel, 1055 First Ave. Members, $25. Student, $20.00. Non-members, $30. At the door if space available, $35. 1 Hour MCLE credit. California Women Lawyeres Annual Dinner
California Women Lawyers (CWL) is having its annual dinner this year on September 23 in Monterey, California. The dinner is held the same week and at the same location as the State Bar conference. Click here for a copy of the flyer. The speaker at the annual CWL dinner is Mireille Guiliano, the former president and CEO of Clicquot, Inc. Ms. Guiliano was tapped to re-launch the 225 year-old flagship champagne brand, Veuve Clicquot, in the U.S. Under Ms. Guiliano's leadership, Veuve Clicquot has grown from 1% to 25% of the U.S. Champagne market. Ms. Guiliano is also a renowned author.
