On our way to honor our Fund for Justice grant recipients on December 9, we pause to celebrate Thanksgiving in a way that no one imagined last Thanksgiving —in the midst of a global pandemic. The pandemic restrictions may change the ways in which we celebrate, but not how we stop to express gratitude around the Thanksgiving dinner table. As such, during my turn I would like to take a moment to personally express my deepest gratitude to each of you, our Lawyers Club family.
THANK YOU to each member and sponsor. Your membership and generosity allows Lawyers Club to be of service to you and the community, to create a space of inclusion for all lawyers, judges, non-legal professionals and students, and to advocate to ensure women advance in the law and society.
THANK YOU for joining us at each monthly committee meeting, virtual event, and for giving us the opportunity to raise your awareness and mobilize your own advocacy on reproductive justice amidst a global pandemic, the discrimination of mothers in the workplace, women of color as leaders of social change, labor trafficking, and a woman’s invisible work with New York Times bestseller author of Fair Play, Eve Rodsky.
THANK YOU for sharing unique and inspirational virtual experiences mixed with feminism and spirits with Moe Girton, owner of Gossip Grill, and Jacey Powers, founder of the Feminist Cocktail Hour.
THANK YOU to our board, staff, sponsors, committee co-chairs and volunteers, whose hard work, dedication and commitment to you and our mission propels us to constantly reach new heights even during a pandemic.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of the Lawyers Club family and supporting our mission to advance the status of women in the law and society.
From my family to all of yours, Happy Thanksgiving, wonderful people.
With deepest gratitude,
