During our childhood years we learn about history and may find ourselves wondering what it must have been like to live through the history we have learned, how we may have behaved, and the choices we would have made. While we cannot travel back in time to find the answers, we can be present now and be part of the history that is our shared lived experiences. Our participation is dependent on our choice to engage in the history that future generations will read about.

Therefore, it is important that this year we all choose to be part of the history making 2021 Annual Dinner event. Beyond being a virtual red carpet event with bells and whistles—including a hand-delivered dinner; a full bottle of wine; and LC swag goodies —including a LC branded bag and wine glasses with a few other surprises—we will reflect on Lawyers Club’s call to action for us all to shine a light on bias and inequality and to collectively use our voices to advocate for a more equitable and inclusive society.

It will be an event you will want to read about and say, “I was there when, despite a global pandemic, Lawyers Club hosted a red carpet virtual dinner and awarded the 2021 ICON award to California Secretary of State Dr. Shirley N. Weber, the first African American to be California SOS in the 170-year history of the constitutional offices.”  In other words, “I was on the right side of herstory!”

I look forward to celebrating herstory as we make history together on May 6, 2021. To ensure you get your hand-delivered dinner, full bottle of wine and LC swag, buy your tickets HERE by the deadline of April 21, 2021. It’s going to be fantabulous!
