I am using my weekly President’s Message to shamelessly plug and personally invite you to the Lawyers Club Annual Dinner on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. We are thrilled that Cecile Richards, former president of Planned Parenthood, Co-Founder of Supermajority, and author of Make Trouble: Standing Up, Speaking Out, and Finding the Courage to Lead, will be the keynote speaker. 

The Annual Dinner is our largest event of the year and has become one of the most well-attended events in the San Diego legal community. This  year will be the first time we hold this event in person since the pandemic began in 2020. We will witness the induction of the new Board of Directors, and honor the 2022 award recipients – Judge Olga Álvarez for the Belva Lockwood Award, Jamie Beck for the Community Service Award, and Jaclyn Reinhart for C. Hugh Friedman New Lawyer Award, and the inaugural Ally Award presented posthumously to Charles A. Bird.  

The 2022 Annual Dinner, themed “Our Future, Our Choice, Our Rights!” shines a light on Lawyers Club’s rich, 50-year history of advocacy for women’s rights and social justice. We are confident you will be inspired to continue to drive change.
