About Us

Lawyers Club of San Diego is proud to be an affiliate/institutional member of:

California Women Lawyers

Lawyers Club is an affiliate member of California Women Lawyers ("CWL") which promotes, through federal and state legislative and judicial advocacy, the advancement of women in the legal profession and for the concerns of women in society. CWL has affiliate organizational members and individual members.

Lawyers Club's legacy of collaboration with CWL began with CWL's inception and has continued in the years since: Lawyers Club's founding mother Hon. Lynn Schenk (former United States Congresswoman) was a founder of CWL, along with Lawyers Club member Hon. Patricia Cowett. Past CWL Presidents include Lawyers Club members Hon. Barbara Gamer (CWL President 1978-1979), Candace Carroll (CWL President 2003-2004), Wendy Behan (CWL President 2014-2015), and Renee Stackhouse (2017-2018).

To be a voting affiliate member of CWL, Lawyers Club must demonstrate annually that 20 percent of our members are also members of CWL. Being a voting affiliate allows Lawyers Club to have a voice on the 30+ member CWL board, which draws representation from all over the state, including regional and affiliate governors.

Lawyers Club is fortunate to be well represented on the CWL board with Michelle Ialeggio, First Vice President and District 9 Governor; Jodi Cleesattle, District 9 Governor; and Shannon Finley, Affiliate Representative for Lawyers Club. Add your voice - join CWL. Visit the CWL website here.
