Executive Director

Ivy Kosmides

Dr. Ivy Kosmides has a long history of successfully leading diverse initiatives for prominent organizations. Ivy joined Lawyers Club of San Diego in 2018, after working as both an adjunct professor and the Development Events Manager for the University of the Redlands. With a Ph.D. in International Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, Ivy brings a uniquely high-level business perspective to her work for the association.

Prior to serving as the Lawyers Club Executive Director, Ivy served as the organization’s Senior Director of Programming and Development. Ivy previously spent seven years working as an economist for the U.S. Treasury and detailed to the Inter-American Development Bank, serving as the International Affairs principal analyst, advisor, and inter-governmental liaison on policy issues related to Latin America and the Caribbean, and terrorist financing and money laundering. Her work included advising law enforcement and legal teams in the Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence on implications of enforcement actions on international banking and securities markets and monitoring political, financial, and capital markets developments for several Latin American countries.

In addition to a Ph. D., Ivy holds a Master of Arts degree in International Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Ivy first fell for the San Diego community as a Visiting Scholar at UC San Diego’s Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies, and happily returned here in 2015. She has earned certifications from the National Conflict Resolution Center in conflict resolution and elimination of bias, a Certificate of Culinary Arts and Dietary Management from Cascade Culinary Institute, and advanced trainings in yoga and meditation. Ivy is dedicated to the mission of Lawyers Club, and when she is not advocating for the advancement of women, she can be found surfing, dancing, gardening, yoga-ing, or spending time with her family and dog Pepper and cat Sebastián.

Director of Programming

Alison Frank

Alison Frank joined Lawyers Club of San Diego as Director of Programming in 2023. Prior to that, she spent several years in the HOA Management industry, where she managed a portfolio of communities and supported the Board of Directors with a focus on compliance, Civil Code, and conflict resolution. Previously, Alison not only taught elementary school for 15 years in San Diego County, but also, planned and executed special events, fundraisers, and managed public relations for non-profit organizations and a private school.  Her career in Communications started at Honolulu Publishing, where she wrote and edited features and took photographs for various publications, including Honolulu Magazine. She went from there to working with local and national media outlets for the Public Information Office for the UCSD School of Medicine.  She also has a background in hotels, catering, and cruise management.  

In her spare time, Alison enjoys venturing out to capture beautiful landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes, and other interesting elements in nature.  She also enjoys shooting portraits and creating digital art. Her work has been purchased by several retailers and can be viewed on her website. She holds a Master of Arts in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Communications from the State University of New York at Albany.  Alison was born and raised in New York City, and currently lives in San Marcos with her husband and teenage son.
